Motion Capture Progress

Hello World,
So I just recently started working with motion capture because our school just got funding for a motion capture studio (YAY!). It was my first solo attempt at editing and unfortunately it didn't end well but I learned some lessons.
I started the day before yesterday when I put on the motion capture suit and did a walk cycle that I later would like to edit in Maya. After multiple takes and some embarrassment (its a sexy walk) I finally got the one that I thought would look really great. Due to the fact that I am a student and part-time employee I didn't have time to get to it again until today. So I opened up the file in Optitrack (the editing/recording program) and I cleaned up all the funky points so that I could get it into Motion Builder.
After Some time and frustration moving points and redrawing lines I was ready to bring it into Motion Builder. This is my first solo time using the Motion Capture, usually I have a more experienced TA helping me with it, so needless to say I was pretty proud of myself for getting it all ready for the next step. That is where all the trouble began though; once I got it into Motion Builder I referred back to the tutorial video that had been set up for us so I could follow along and found a problem. In Motion Builder your character needs to start off in a T-pose (legs shoulder length apart and arms out) in order to assign points to the character.
This was a let down for me because I had forgotten to start off with a T-pose at the beginning of the walk cycle that I did. So I had to scrap the work I put in for today and it looks like I will be starting over again and now that I know how to properly begin the recording. Oh well, this is all part of the animation game, putting in tons of work and knowing there is a possibility of scrapping it all and starting over.
So I will leave you with some words of advice: Patience is a virtue and if you want to be an animator you better have a lot of it!
